About our privacy policy

iMounts cares deeply about your privacy. We only process data that is necessary for (improving) our services, and we handle all information we collect about you and your use of our services with great care. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.

This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services offered on it by iMounts. The effective date of these terms is 27/03/2024. When a new version is published, the validity of all previous versions expires. This privacy policy explains which data we collect about you, how this data is used, and with whom and under what conditions this data may be shared with third parties. We also explain how we store your data, how we protect your data against misuse, and what rights you have regarding the personal data you have provided to us.

If you have any questions about our privacy policy, you can contact our privacy representative; you will find the contact details at the end of this privacy policy.

About data processing

Below you can read how we process your data, where it is stored, which security techniques we use, and who has access to the data.

Webshop software
Shopify
We use the web hosting and email services of Shopify and YourHosting. They process personal data on our behalf and do not use your data for their own purposes. These parties may collect metadata about the use of their services — this is not personal data. Shopify and YourHosting have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent the loss or misuse of your personal data. They are bound to confidentiality under our agreement. We use Shopify for our regular business email communication. Shopify has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent misuse, loss, and corruption of both your and our data. Shopify does not have access to our mailbox, and we treat all our email communication confidentially.

Payment processors

Shopify Payments
For handling (part of) the payments in our webshop, we use the Shopify Payments platform. They process your name, address, residence details, and payment information such as your bank or credit card number. Shopify Payments has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. Shopify Payments reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and may share (anonymised) data with third parties for this purpose. In the case of a deferred payment (credit facility) request, Shopify Payments shares personal data and financial information with credit rating agencies. All the above safeguards regarding the protection of your personal data apply to all services for which Shopify Payments engages third parties. Shopify Payments does not retain your data longer than permitted by legal requirements.

Reviews

WebwinkelKeur

We collect reviews through the WebwinkelKeur platform. When you leave a review, you are required to provide your name and email address. WebwinkelKeur shares this information with us so we can link the review to your order. In some cases, WebwinkelKeur may contact you for clarification. If we invite you to leave a review, we share your name and email address with WebwinkelKeur. They only use this information to invite you to review. WebwinkelKeur has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. They reserve the right to engage third parties for service delivery; we have authorised this. All safeguards mentioned in this privacy policy also apply to components for which WebwinkelKeur engages third parties.

Bol.com

We collect reviews via the Bol platform. When leaving a review on Bol, you must provide your name and email address. Bol shares this information with us so we can link it to your order. In some cases, Bol may contact you for clarification. If we send an invitation to review, we share your name and email address with Bol. Bol has implemented appropriate security measures to protect your personal data.

Shipping and logistics

PostNL
When you place an order with us, it is our responsibility to deliver your package to you. We use the services of PostNL for shipments. For this purpose, we share your name, address, and residence details with PostNL. PostNL uses this information solely to carry out the delivery agreement. If PostNL engages subcontractors, your data may also be provided to these parties.

DHL
We also use DHL for deliveries. To perform this service, DHL receives your name, address, and residence information. DHL only uses this data to fulfil the delivery agreement. If DHL engages subcontractors, these may also receive your data.

External sales channels

We sell some of our products via Bol.com. When placing an order on this platform, Bol.com shares your order and personal data with us. We use this data to process your order. We handle your data confidentially and have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against misuse or loss.

General purpose of processing

We only use your data for the purpose of our service. This means that processing is always directly related to the assignment you give us. We do not use your data for targeted marketing. If you provide data to us and we want to use this data later in a different context, we will ask for your explicit consent. Your data is not shared with third parties except where necessary for accounting or administrative purposes. These parties are bound by confidentiality either contractually or legally.

Automatically collected data

Data automatically collected by our website is processed to further improve our services. This data (such as your IP address, browser type, and operating system) is not considered personal data.

Cooperation in tax or criminal investigations

In some cases, iMounts may be legally required to share your data in connection with government-led tax or criminal investigations. If such a situation arises, we are obliged to comply but will resist to the extent permitted by law.

Retention periods

We retain your data as long as you are our client. This means your customer profile is kept until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services — we will treat this as a request to be forgotten. We do not retain your data longer than two years after the last contact or transaction unless required by law. Due to administrative obligations, invoices containing your personal data must be stored for the legally applicable period. Employees no longer have access to your client profile or documents once retention obligations expire.

Your rights

Under Dutch and European privacy laws, you have several rights regarding your personal data. Below we explain which rights these are and how you can invoke them. To prevent misuse, we only send copies or access to your data to the email address already known to us. If you want the information sent to another email address or by mail, we may ask you to verify your identity. We keep records of all processed requests. You always have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) if you believe your personal data is mishandled.

Right of access

You always have the right to access the data we process that relates to you or can be traced back to you. You can submit a request to our privacy contact. You will receive a response within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send a copy of your data along with an overview of the processors who have access to it.

Right to rectification

You always have the right to have your personal data corrected. Submit a request to our privacy contact, and you will receive a response within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will confirm the changes by email.

Right to restrict processing

You always have the right to request a restriction on the processing of your personal data. Submit a request to our privacy contact. If approved, we will confirm via email that your data will no longer be processed until you lift the restriction.

Right to data portability

You have the right to have your personal data transferred to another party. After your request, you will receive copies of all data we process about you. In most cases, we will no longer be able to provide services afterward, as secure data linking can no longer be guaranteed.

Right to object and other rights

You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by iMounts. If you object, we will immediately stop processing your data pending the outcome. If your objection is justified, we will provide copies of your data and permanently stop all processing. You also have the right not to be subjected to automated decision-making or profiling. We do not process data in such a way that this applies. If you believe otherwise, please contact our privacy representative.

Our website uses cookies from Google as part of the “Analytics” service. We use this service to track and receive reports on how visitors use our website. This processor may be required by law to provide access to this data. We have not granted Google permission to use the analytics data for other Google services.

Third-party cookies

If third-party software solutions use cookies, this will be stated in this privacy policy.
